Wow… so this is a pretty cool publicity stunt from the guys at 20th Century Fox and Thinkmodo which was done in New York.
It’s for the film Chronicle - which I have to say looks a little suspect to me, based on the trailer. I bet it’ll be pants.
Anyway, 20th Century Fox and Thinkmodo built three custom RC planes shaped like humanoids to create the illusion of people flying (this is apparently what happens in the film).
The illusion looks bloody good and it would have freaked the hell out of me if I had seen it in real life.
